I got this woodie 8 years ago to be raced and finally try and win the nationals after getting second twice. Everything I could think of that would make it the best was used. Lots of advice from Greg Griffin and Chris Pollock. Nationals in Jacksonville in 2021 was the goal but now that has changed.
Here is what I have done:
Custom foam cored super strong and light weight bow tank to eliminate the styrofoam.
Round aluminum tiller and rudder head. Sea Sure pintles and gudgeons with bearings.
All new wood except the seats and cb trunk, they were in good condition. Mahogany and ash rails.
Greg Griffin bow spinnaker turtle and hiking straps.
New CB gasket.
White Awlgrip hull after many sessions of fairing and sanding.
All foam is encased in new white shrink wrap.
Almost new trailing bottom and top cover.
Older set of Fisher sails and an okay set of North’s.
Lifting bridle, anchor, paddle, spinnaker pole, everything you need to go racing. You can come to the midwinters and race the boat. It’s a 2 hour drive.
I haven’t even put the boat in the water yet, but I did set up mast rake and rig tension. We can even go for a sail if you get the boat since it is always warm here in sunny Orlando Florida.
