Seventeen PNW Thistles arrived Saturday morning looking for some great breezes but found a bit of drizzle. The strong westerlies from the last two days had blown out and needed rest, so we went out well after lunch and pieced together a race by chasing the wind around the middle of the lake. Connecting the puffs was the answer and the masters were soon out of sight. The usual excellent meal from the EYC kitchen crew featured lasagna and a strawberry-covered tiramisu cake and, of course, kegs.
Sunday brought wind from the NNE with a bit of shiftiness, leeward mark pinwheels and some pretty good sailing if you could just figure out where to go. The top four boats seemed to run in a pack. As you would expect, you've seen those names at the top before.
Thanks to all who came and enjoyed the weekend.
